From what I saw and what I remember, this was a pretty good representation of the book. Everything was actually how I pictured it, and I may have enjoyed it if I had all the time in the world to sit around and watch movies.
I would definitely recommend either reading the book or watching the movie, but once you've sat through one, I don't think there's a need to sit through the other in this case.
ANYWAY. I liked this movie. The last...half hour or so didn't really work for me, but the rest was awesome. It was so fast-paced and dark and perfect, and then the end! All I wanted was to go to bed, which was partly my own fault, but this movie is fucking long, and I wasn't expecting it to take forever to watch. And since I had already figured out the split personality thing, I just didn't care.
The rest though! I really loved the entire thing, up til about the start of Project Mayhem, I guess. I loved the fight clubs, and watching the narrator's life change, and just. Everything. Loved it. I kind of want to watch it again, maybe with the commentary, but whatever, because I know I'll just turn it off once it gets to the boring part.
And the very end, well, that was more of a personal problem, in that trying to kill myself and failing is one of my biggest fears. Can you really shoot yourself in the face and then talk about it? For the love of all that is holy, please tell me no.
I can't really say if it was better than the first one (since I've only watched it while totally drunk, heh), but it was way better than the show. More stunts + less Bam being annoying = AWESOME. And they made him cry TWICE. It was like my dream come true!
I could watch this shit all day, heeeeeeeeeee.
Also, I'm still totally in love with Ryan Dunn. Oh man.
